Job Title:  Cabling Technician

Job Description:

• Performs special data communication projects as assigned by supervisor.
• Installation, termination, testing and labeling of structured cabling systems.
• Adheres to the company’s standard levels, assuring that daily work and special projects are completed in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
• Provides courteous and professional customer service when responding to a customer request or fulfilling project requirements.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years experience installing and servicing Cat 5, 5e, 6 and fiber optics, knowledge of TIA/EIA standards or BICSI certified preferred.
•Knowledge of the provisions of the national and local electrical codes.
•Ability to visually identify all colors used in telephone cable.
•Thorough knowledge of electrical trade tools, including hand and power tools, and the ability to use them in a safe and effective manner.
•Thorough knowledge of connecting, wiring, and devices used in data communication.
•Ability to diagnose and correct communication failures.
•Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, procedure and technical manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics.
